A seasoned mid-courter, Jacqui Russell is best-known for her performances in Wing Defence but is also well-versed in pulling on the Centre bib.
Jacqui joined Sunshine Coast Lightning as a training partner in January 2018 before being named as the permanent replacement player for Sarahpheinna Woulf, who suffered an ACL injury. Jacqui formed part of the 10-strong squad that won the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball Championship.
She is no stranger to high-performance netball, having captained Queensland Fusion in past years, spent time in the English superleague and played for Queensland Firebirds in 2010 and 2011.
Jacqui’s dogged defence skills have earned her a reputation within Lightning as queen of the one-on-one battle on-court. Off the court, she is a qualified high school PE teacher and a keen traveller.
