LIGHTNING TO WELCOME LEADING LOCAL CHARITY PARTNER

Local not-for-profit, Wishlist, and Sunshine Coast Lightning will enter a one-year partnership for 2024.

A Sunshine Coast Health Foundation and one of the Coast’s leading charities — Wishlist supports the growing health needs of patients and families on the Sunshine Coast and Gympie region.

The partnership is set to leverage the strengths of both organisations, combining the health-focused initiatives of Wishlist with the widespread influence and community connections of Lightning.

Storm Group Chief Executive Officer Justin Rodski said he looks forward to seeing what the two organisations can achieve together.

“As an organisation that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the Sunshine Coast community, our partnership with Wishlist is one that not only makes sense, but one that we are proud of,” he said.

“We are thrilled to align ourselves with such a fantastic organisation, and we look forward to exploring the opportunities this partnership can achieve in 2024 and beyond.”

Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe says she is thrilled to announce the community partnership with the national sporting team.

“The Lightning and Wishlist are united by our shared values — we are both dedicated to making a positive impact in our community,” Ms Rowe says.

“We believe that promoting an active and healthy lifestyle is intrinsically linked in our collective mission. So, together we can amplify our efforts and reach an even larger audience.”

“The Sunshine Coast Lightning’s commitment to community engagement and social responsibility resonates deeply with us and we are excited about the possibilities this partnership holds.”

To celebrate the partnership, Sunshine Coast Lightning players visited Sunshine Coast University Hospital to surprise a number of hospital staff including nurses, doctors and administration officers with free double-passes to Lightning’s upcoming practice match against the NSW Swifts.
