Sunshine Coast Lightning will retain all 10 of its 2024 contracted athletes in the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Nine players were signed for multi-year deals at the end of 2023, with Tara Hinchliffe officially re-signing with the Club in 2025, meaning there will be no changes to the contracted 10.
Lightning welcomed three new players in 2024 — Leesa Mi Mi, Courtney Bruce and Liz Watson — and the team built nicely throughout the 2024 season to adapt to new combinations across the court.
Head Coach Belinda Reynolds said retaining the team provides stability and a strong foundation for further development leading into the 2025 season.
“I’m extremely pleased to enter the 2025 season with the same 10 athletes as we had this year,” she said.
“We worked hard this year to solidify our chemistry and culture within our squad, and these relationships will enable us to build on our cohesive units from the get-go when we hit preseason.”
Reynolds spoke highly of Tara Hinchliffe and what she brings to the Club, as a player and a person.
“Tara contributes significantly to both on-court performance and team dynamics. She’s a selfless consistent performer with exceptional game smarts, and she epitomises everything our Club stands for,” she said.
“We are thrilled to welcome her back to the team next season.”
