DEHANEY TO DEPART LIGHTNING

Jamaican international, Kadie-Ann Dehaney will not return to Sunshine Coast Lightning in 2024 after two years with the Club.

Dehaney made her debut in 2017 with the Melbourne Vixens, before moving to Queensland and playing for Lightning in 2022 and 2023 where her game only continued to grow.

After a stand-out 2023 season, Dehaney finished third in the league for defensive rebounds (23) along with 21 intercepts and 64 deflections.

Lightning Head Coach Belinda Reynolds said Dehaney was a quality player and continues to develop her game.

“KD is a high-quality, experienced defender and continues to improve her game year-on-year. Her height and athletic ability makes her a tough opponent to play against, and she’s played some outstanding games against some of the best shooters in the world,” she said.

“I’d like to thank KD for everything she’s contributed to our Club both on and off the court and wish her the best in her future endeavours.”
