Formidable midcourter Mahalia Cassidy joined the Lightning side ahead of Season 5 and settled into the lineup with ease. Cassidy is a tenacious and highly talented midcourter, who has made a name for herself wearing the Centre bib, but is also comfortable at Wing Attack or Wing Defence, providing balance to Lightning’s squad. While injuries hampered the 27-year-old’s court time in previous seasons, her time at Lightning has seen a return to form and fitness. Cassidy previously played for Queensland Firebirds, making her debut in 2015.
