Sunshine Coast Lightning has announced it will launch a specialist shooting program hosted by World Champion and Australian Diamond, Cara Koenen.

Focussed on both shooting positions, Swish Club will include four specialist sessions at the Sunshine Coast Sports Recreation Precinct for netballers aged 10–11 years.

Koenen said the pilot program is a fantastic opportunity for young netballers to develop their shooting skills.

“I’m really looking forward to working with a small group of netballers wanting to focus on either Goal Shooter or Goal Attack,” she said.

“The smaller groups will allow them to learn in a focussed environment, and having four consecutive sessions means we can build on the skills they’ve developed every week.

“This age group is just prior to representative level, so it gives the kids a perfect opportunity to improve their game before they start attending trials at their associations.”

Swish Club Sessions:

  1. Tuesday, 20 February 4.30–5.30pm
  2. Tuesday, 27 February 4.30–5.30pm
  3. Tuesday, 5 March 4.30–5.30pm
  4. Tuesday, 12 March 4.30–5.30pm
