Sunshine Coast pathways product Samaya Cook, has been signed as a Training Partner for the 2027 Super Netball Season.
The defender was a member of Lightning’s SN Reserves side in 2026, while also representing Queensland at U19 level.
Cook, who captained Queensland’s U17 team in 2025, said she was excited to be joining the Sunshine Coast Lightning’s elite environment in 2027.
“I’m stoked to be jumping on board as a Training Partner this season,” she said.
“Having been part of the SN Reserves group in 2026, getting the opportunity to train with the Super Netball group is something I’m really looking forward to.
“As someone who has come through the Sunshine Coast pathways, I’m just keen to get into training with the girls.”
Lightning head coach, Belinda Reynolds said Cook was someone they had identified as an emerging young talent.
“We’re super excited to have Samaya joining us this season,” she said.
“She’s been someone who has risen through the ranks here on the Sunny Coast and is an exciting prospect.
“Having spent time in our Reserves environment, Samaya will be a great addition to our very strong group of Training Partners to help prepare us for our 2027 Super Netball campaign.”
Cook joins Jada Delaney, Charlie Bell and Baylee Boyd as confirmed Training Partner for 2027 following on from the contracted Super Netball squad.
