Sunshine Coast Lightning will kick off the 2025 season on the road as they face Melbourne rivals, the Melbourne Mavericks.
After two one-game losses to the Mavericks in 2024, Lightning will be out for redemption at John Cain Arena — determined to start their season off strong.
Lightning will then face the reigning two-time Premiers, the Adelaide Thunderbirds, in front of a home crowd at UniSC Arena.
Backing it up for the second home game in a row, the Queensland Firebirds will make their way up to Bruce Highway to compete for the Queensland Cup – which currently sits with the Sunshine Coast side.
The trip to the West will happen early in the season, with Belinda Reynolds and Courtney Bruce facing their former Club, West Coast Fever in Round 4.
Lightning will play the NSW Swifts in both First Nations Rounds, which will take place during National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week in Rounds 7 and 13, with Lightning hosting the first round at UniSC Arena.
The regular season will wrap up with two away games for Lightning against the NSW Swifts and the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
