Netball Australia has today released the 2023 Suncorp Super Netball fixture, with Sunshine Coast Lightning kicking off the season with a home game.
Lightning will start the 2023 season at USC Stadium against GIANTS Netball on Sunday, 19 March at 1pm AEST — providing fans the opportunity to support the first game of the season live and in person.
The second game will see Lightning travel down the Bruce to take on the Queensland Firebirds in a local Queensland derby, set to take place on Saturday, 25 March at 4pm AEST.
This season Lightning will be part of the ANZAC Day match in Melbourne against the Collingwood Magpies — providing an exciting opportunity for a major, mid-week game for fans.
The fixture also includes a dedicated, league-wide Inclusion Round, where Lightning will take on the Swifts at Ken Rosewall Arena on Sunday, 7 May at 4pm.
First Nations Rounds will take place on Saturday, 27 May and Sunday, 4 June, firstly at USC Stadium against the Collingwood Magpies, and then at RAC Arena in Perth against the West Coast Fever.
In its second year as the Suncorp Super Netball League’s broadcast partner, the Foxtel Group will continue to bolster viewership accessibility with all matches to be broadcast live and ad-break free during game play on Fox Sports, available on Foxtel and Kayo.
Additionally, once again two select matches each round will be available to watch live and free via Kayo Freebies. Kayo Freebies will also broadcast all finals matches and the Grand Final live and free, to ensure no netball fan misses a moment of finals action.
The Suncorp Super Netball Finals Series will be played across four weeks in June and July. In line with the league’s Grand Final venue format, a predetermined location will be announced ahead of season commencement.
The Grand Final will take place on Saturday 8 July and conclude the Suncorp Super Netball League season ahead of the Origin Australian Diamonds’ 2023 Netball World Cup campaign in South Africa.
