LIGHTNING WELCOMES NEW RADIO PARTNER IN 2023

Sunshine Coast Lightning is pleased to announce it has signed Sunshine Coast Broadcasters as its radio partner for the 2023-2024 Suncorp Super Netball seasons.

The two-year deal will see Lightning join forces with 91.9 SEA FM and 92.7 MIX FM — both owned by Sunshine Coast Broadcasters — to generate a new wave of content and engagement for the two organisations ahead of the 2023 Suncorp Super Netball season, due to commence on 18 March 2023.

The local broadcasters will work with Lightning to reach a broader cross section of the Sunshine Coast community, collaborating to grow awareness of elite netball and the Club, from grassroots participants through to avid sports enthusiasts.

Netball fans on the Coast can expect to enjoy bespoke Lightning netball segments across the airwaves with both stations also activating at Lightning home games during the 2023 SSN season, with live outdoor broadcast, in-stadium and Strikezone activations.

Lightning CEO, Danielle Smith said the new partnership will provide even more opportunities for fans to connect with the Club on a deeper level.

“We are incredibly excited to secure SEA FM & MIX FM as our radio partners for the next two seasons,” she said.

“There are several new and exciting initiatives in the works, which will provide even greater connection in the local community with our athletes and staff.”

“The partnership will also help us to expand our Membership base and attract new fans to attend our home games – we’re looking forward to working with the team at Sunshine Coast Broadcasters to achieve our goal of over 3,000 members in 2023.

“We also see a great opportunity to elevate Lightning’s presence in the local business community, enhancing the Club’s corporate offering throughout the season.”

Sunshine Coast Broadcasters CEO, John Williams said the Sunshine Coast is very lucky to have a thriving national sporting team as part of the local community.

“The team at SEA FM & MIX FM look forward to throwing our full enthusiasm and support behind Lightning,” he said.

“We’re already working on some exciting ideas for Season 2023 and look forward to this partnership continuing well into the future.”
