Sunshine Coast Lightning, in partnership with Sunshine Coast Council and Rockcote, is calling for expressions of interest (EOI) from local artists who are interested in the opportunity to paint a Lightning mural.
The painted mural, which will be located outside the Caloundra Sports Stadium, will represent Lightning and will be a constant in the local netball community.
Lightning is looking for an enthusiastic local artist who has had some previous experience in painting murals, and can produce a mural that is vibrant, clean and joyful. The mural should showcase Lightning’s branding as well as a few players.
The chosen artist will be selected based on their previous experience and draft concept. They will be compensated for their time spent painting the mural and will have all paint supplied thanks to our partner, Rockcote.
Lightning, Sunshine Coast Council and Rockcote will also promote the mural through their digital channels, giving the chosen artist exposure to wider audiences.
The key dates of the project are as follows:
- Tuesday, 20 September: EOI released
- Sunday, 9 October: Submissions close at 6pm
- Friday, 14 October: Winner is chosen and notified
- Week commencing Monday, 14 November: Artist begins painting mural
- Early December: Mural reveal and community launch event.
