Sunshine Coast Lightning has achieved its highest ever Membership number in the Club’s history, surpassing the previous record achieved in 2019.

Considerable support for the Club was off to a flying start before the season began, with all season-ticketed Membership packages completely sold out well before Round 1.

With two sold out matches already this season and the others close to it, more and more fans have been showing up to support Belinda Reynolds and her side, whether that’s at UniSC Arena, from interstate or from across the globe.

Reynolds, who has worked hard in the off-season to form a team of both exciting youth and world-class experienced athletes, said the immense support from the fans is a key factor to the Club’s success.

“This is truly a fantastic achievement for our Club, and we could not have done it without the unwavering support from our Lightning community — whether you’re from the Coast or beyond,” she said.

“We injected some new faces into our line-up for 2024, and to see how the community has embraced them, as well as our younger athletes, it’s been truly special.”

Storm Group CEO Justin Rodski commended the fans for their support in the lead-up to the season and now.

“We had an incredible start to the season with so many of our Membership packages selling out at a record-rate, so to now have reached our highest ever number of Memberships is really exciting,” he said.

“Our Members are the backbone of our Club — whether you have been with us since we were first established in 2017, or have joined us for the first time this year, you play an important role in the Club’s success.

“This only strengthens Lightning’s footprint on the Sunshine Coast as we continue to grow as the region’s only national elite sporting team.”

Lightning will celebrate its record-breaking achievement at its Members’ Open Training event this Thursday evening at UniSC Arena. There will be a Q&A opportunity, cake cutting and giveaways for all Members in attendance.

Lightning’s Membership program is proudly supported by WISE Employment.
