Huge Semi-Final Ahead of Lightning

Sunshine Coast Lightning will officially take on West Coast Fever in the Minor Semi-Final on Saturday 14 August 2021, from 3pm at Nissan Arena, in what will be Lightning’s 5th consecutive finals series.

The Club’s first finals opponent was confirmed during today’s Round 14 double header, which earlier saw Lightning fall to NSW Swifts by 5 goals, despite a late comeback.

The Lightning v Fever clash will pose a huge task for the Queensland side, however a win last time they met in Round 10 will instil confidence.

In addition to announcing next week’s finals fixtures, the league has confirmed the timings and locations of the entire series, which will remain in Queensland.

If Lightning progress through to the Preliminary Final, they will have the opportunity to return to their home court at USC Stadium for the first time since Round 8.

The Preliminary Final will return to the Sunshine Coast regardless of opponent, played on Saturday 21 August from 3pm.

The Grand Final will be played on Saturday 28 August from 2:30pm, again at Nissan Arena.

The League will make further announcements around potential crowd attendance in accordance with any lift in restrictions to the South-East Queensland lockdown, which is currently scheduled to end tomorrow.
