The Quad Series is returning to the international netball calendar in January 2022, with Australian Origin Diamonds, New Zealand Silver Ferns, England Vitality Roses and South Africa’s SPAR Proteas teams set to participate.
The eight-game series will be played in London from the 16 January to the 20 January 2022, with Sunshine Coast Lightning players Steph Wood, Cara Koenen and Karla Pretorius eligible for selection for their country.
The final traveling squads will be announced by each nation in the coming weeks, with Netball Australia confirming the Diamonds contingent of 15 athletes to be named shortly.
The tournament will mark the first time all four teams have gone head to head since the 2019 World Club.
Netball Australia detailed the series format, with teams to go head to head once each, with results to determine a third and fourth place game as well as the ultimate Quad Series final.
The first Quad Series was played in 2016, with the Diamonds winning five of the six titles.
The Quad Series will be broadcast live and ad-break free during live play on Fox Sports, with streams available through Foxtel and Kayo Freebies – the first matches under the new Broadcast and Digital Rights Deal.
This international tournament forms part of the Diamonds’ preparations for the 2022 Commonwealth Games which will be held in Birmingham in July of next year.
