Sunshine Coast Lightning will take on GIANTS Netball this weekend at Lightning’s last home game of the regular season.
This is a crucial match for Lightning to ensure they hold onto their fourth spot on the ladder.
Lightning last played GIANTS in Sydney which came to a controversial end after an incorrect score-line took the game into extra time, where Lightning fell short to the GIANTS.
KEY MATCH UP
Courtney Bruce vs Jo Harten
Both fierce competitors, Bruce and Harten have played against each other for many years. Harten is strong on the hold but has the ability to create play around her in the shooting circle.
With Harten’s accurate one and two-point scoring, Bruce will want to keep the ball out of her hands as much as possible, and put pressure on the shot when she receives it.
COACH'S COMMENT
Lightning Head Coach Belinda Reynolds said they are ready for a good battle at home.
“We’ve taken confidence in the fact that we’ve won three of the last five games, with the losses by only a small margin,” she said.
“We love playing in front of our fans here at UniSC Arena and we’re looking to go out and really celebrate the season with them.
“We know the importance of this win.”
