MILLER TO DEPART LIGHTNING

Annie Miller has advised Sunshine Coast Lightning that she will not return to the Club for the 2025 season.

The 23-year-old — who signed with Lightning in 2022–2023 and was a training partner in 2024 — has made the decision to step away from the Club to concentrate more time on pursuing her physiotherapy degree.

A dynamic midcourter, Miller is known for her incredible speed, endurance, agility to hit the circle edge, and has a natural ability to accurately feed the circle in both Wing Attack and Centre.

She had a busy 2024 season, competing in Lightning’s SN Reserves side as well as Sunshine Coast Thunder in the Sapphire Series, and was a stand-out performer in both teams.

Lightning Head Coach Belinda Reynolds thanked Annie for her contribution to Lightning.

“Annie is a hard-worker and a talented athlete, but also a great person,” she said.

“While it’s unfortunate we won’t have her in the Lightning environment for 2025, I fully support and appreciate her decision to focus on completing her university degree.

“Annie will always be a special member of our Club, and I wish her all the best in what I know will be a bright future.”
