The Origin Australian Diamonds have fallen short in match two of the Constellation Cup with the Silver Ferns taking their second win of the series last night.
Lightning’s shooting duo Steph Wood and Cara Koenen started the match, with their Lightning connection firing early on in the game.
The Diamonds went into half time one point up, but an inconsistent third quarter meant the Ferns were up by five goals going into the final quarter.
While the Aussies fought hard in the final minutes of the match, they couldn’t pull back the deficit from the previous quarter, and ended up losing the game by four goals.
Now the two teams will travel to Australia to play the final two matches of the Constellation Cup in Victoria and Queensland.
