Sunshine Plaza has teamed up with two-time premiership winners Sunshine Coast Lightning in a new partnership that brings together the region’s leading shopping and entertainment destination with its hometown Suncorp Super Netball team during the club’s milestone 10th season.
The partnership will be brought to life in-centre on Sunday, 31 May, with a free full-squad signing event where fans and families can meet Lightning’s 2026 roster, led by Captain and Australian Diamonds skipper Liz Watson, alongside vice-captains Courtney Bruce and New Zealand Silver Ferns Captain Karin Burger.
The event follows Lightning’s Round 12 home clash against GIANTS Netball at UniSC Arena on Saturday, 30 May.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment between Sunshine Plaza and Lightning to the Sunshine Coast community, uniting sport, retail and lifestyle in a way that gives locals and visitors another reason to come together at the heart of the region.
As part of the partnership, Sunshine Plaza and Lightning will deliver a series of activations throughout the remainder of the 2026 season, including exclusive player content, ticket giveaways to home games at UniSC Arena, and integrated experiences that celebrate the best of the Sunshine Coast.
Sunshine Plaza Marketing Manager Bianca Price said the partnership is a natural fit for two of the Coast’s most recognised brands.
“Sunshine Coast Lightning is such an important part of our community, and we’re thrilled to partner with the team during their milestone 10th season,” said Bianca Price.
“Welcoming the full squad to Sunshine Plaza gives fans of all ages the chance to connect with the players in a relaxed, accessible setting, whether they’re lifelong netball supporters, young players inspired by the team, or families looking for a memorable community experience.” she added.
Sunshine Coast Lightning Chief Operating Officer Rachel Cummins said the club was proud to partner with Sunshine Plaza to bring fans closer to the team during its 10th season.
The squad signing at Sunshine Plaza on Sunday, 31 May is free and open to the public. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot and meet Lightning players in person.
