The Sunshine Coast Lightning are back at home in Round 10 of the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season to celebrate Heritage Round.
Taking on the Vixens back at their Sunshine Coast base this weekend, the Lightning squad welcome back shooter Gabby Sinclair.
This will be the second match up between the two sides this year, with the Vixens getting over the line in a tight contest at John Cain Arena.
Lightning Head Coach, Belinda Reynolds said her side knew this period of games would be tough facing off against the top four from last season.
“We called it the gauntlet, this four-week period and we knew it was going to be a grind,” Reynolds said.
“This week we’ve focussed on refreshing and resetting as a group and getting back to what makes us a great side.
“We’ve got such an opportunity this week to take on an undefeated team at home in front of our fans.”
The matchup between Karin Burger and Kiera Austin is one which will play a key role in the outcome of Saturday’s game.
The international pair are set to reignite their national rivalry again at Suncorp Super Netball level this weekend.
Bruger enjoyed a strong outing against the Swifts in Round 9 with five gains for the match.
The New Zealander has formed a formidable partnership with Diamond Courtney Bruce in the Lightning’s defensive circle.
Austin has been a threat from the Suncorp Super Shot line this season and nailed seven shots against the Lightning in Round 4.
Posing a threat both under the post and from range, expect this battle to feature heavily under the Saturday night lights.
Saturday’s first pass is from 5pm at UniSC Arena, come cheer on your Lightning and get your tickets here.
If you can’t get to the game follow along with the Sunshine Coast Lightning social or watch live on Kayo Sports, Foxtel or Binge.
