Sunshine Coast Lightning has announced that Reilley Batcheldor has informed the Club of her decision to sign with another Suncorp Super Netball team for the 2026 season.
Batcheldor has been an integral part of Lightning since 2022, when she was awarded her first SSN contract – previously signing with the Queensland Firebirds as a Training Partner.
Throughout her years with Lightning, Batcheldor has continued to develop her strength, lethal accuracy and game smarts, remaining calm and collected on the court even in high pressure situations.
Sunshine Coast Lightning Belinda Reynolds acknowledged Batcheldor’s contribution to the Club.
“Roo has been at Lightning for four seasons and I’ve had the pleasure of coaching her for two of those,” she said.
“Although she’s had her fair share of set-backs, it’s Roo’s resilience that impresses me the most, and her determination to be better and stronger every time.
“While it’s disappointing to see her go, I completely respect her decision to try something new, and wish her nothing but the best at her new Club.”
Following Batcheldor’s departure, Lightning has five remaining contracted spots available in its 2026 team.
