Suncorp Super Netball Round 12 Game Day Information

FRIDAY NIGHT FEVER!

Our second clash of the season against West Coast takes place tomorrow night at USC Stadium. The sides squared off in Round 6 and Lightning triumphed 66-49, which is still the team’s highest total of the season. Lightning currently sits third on the competition table, just two points off top spot. At the other end, Fever is languishing in seventh, fifteen points behind Vixens. Herein lies the danger. The WA Club travels east with nothing to lose while Lightning is keen to finish in the top two and contest a major semi-final. With Australian Diamond stalwart, Nat Medhurst leading Fever, the pride of the west will no doubt be desperate to record just their third victory of the competition. GAME ON!

ACTIVATION ZONE OPEN: 6:00pm

STADIUM OPEN: 6:40pm

MATCH STARTS: 7:40pm

(Please note, parking charges may apply until 6:00pm in some areas).

TICKETING & ACCREDITATION: Ticketing will have a marquee external to the Activation Zone entry for any ticket collections. No tickets will be available for sale at the gate – the game is sold out!

ACTIVATION ZONE: Entry to the Stadium will be via the Activation Zone, which will open at 6.00pm. Security will undertake a bag check prior to being scanned into the Activation Zone – Members and fans can then enjoy the Zone’s activities (weather dependant)! Why not get your face painted, have something to eat and drink, share a dance and photo with Lucy Lightning! Activations include; Hot 91.1 • Sunshine Coast Council • USC • Telstra • Net Set Go • Country Chef (with free banana bread samples) • Salvation Army donation collectors supporting the Red Shield Appeal.

FOOD & BEVERAGES: A variety of hot and cold food will be available for purchase at the venue, including Raw Energy (inside), the Good Food Fellas, Van from Hoian, Calamari Canteen, Frozen Sunshine and Espresso XO. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (including bottled water) are also available for purchase from the public bar in the Activation Zone (18+ photo identification must be shown to purchase alcoholic beverages).

COMPETITIONS: Sunshine Coast Lightning corporate partners Samsung and Method are running fantastic competitions at the match. Keep your ears and eyes open for instructions on how to win!

STADIUM: There are two entry points – the Northern Gate (closest to the pool end) and the Southern Gate. Your ticket will either say North or South. Each stand is then broken down into aisles which are marked.

MERCHANDISE: Fans who want to look the part are in luck! GAME Clothing, our official merchandise partner, will be on location with the latest GAME goodies so you can deck yourself out in some fantastic gear.

FAN ENGAGEMENT: Lightning athletes will be available to sign autographs shortly after the conclusion of the game (10 minutes after the game). This will occur in the entrance foyer to the Stadium. Half the team will sign for 15 minutes, then they will swap with the other half of the team signing for another 15 minutes. Signings are limited to one item each and minimal photos. This is to ensure the players have their correct recovery time and fairness that everyone gets a chance to get a signature. We appreciate your assistance in ensuring we can get the balance right for everyone!

PLEASE NOTE: While the action on-court will be red-hot, the stadium itself can be quite cool. The air conditioning system works perfectly, so if you feel the cold, we suggest you bring something warm to wear. If you’re bringing a pram, please ensure to leave it in the front entry foyer on arrival – prams cannot be left in the aisle ways.
