Suncorp Super Netball Finals FAQs

Via Suncorp Super Netball.

The inaugural Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) Finals Series takes place 3-17 June.

The top four teams on the ladder at the end of the home and away season will contest the Finals Series. These are confirmed as Vixens, Lightning, GIANTS and Magpies.

Finals Series matches will be held in the home state of the host team.

3 June: Major Semi Final (1 v 2)

3 June: Minor Semi Final (3 v 4)

10 June: Preliminary Final (Loser Major Semi v Winner Minor Semi Final)

17 June: Grand Final

Should Lightning claim the Minor Premiership, the Club will host the Major Semi Final against the team who finishes second place (Vixens or GIANTS). The venue and time will be confirmed by Suncorp Super Netball following Round 14.

  1. Win and Lightning will proceed directly to, and host, the inaugural Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final on Saturday 17 June, with the venue and time to be confirmed by SSN  following the Major Semi Final.
  2. Lose and Lightning will host the Preliminary Final on Saturday 10 June, with the venue and time to be confirmed by SSN following the Major Semi Final. The winner of the Preliminary Final will progress to the Grand Final, hosted by the winner of the Major Semi Final on Saturday 17 June.

 

How does the Finals Series work?

The team that finishes on top of the ladder at the end of the home and away season, will host the Major Semi-Final against the team that finishes second on the ladder. The team who finishes third on the ladder at the end of the home and away season, will host the Minor Semi-Final against the team that finishes fourth on the ladder. The winner of the Major Semi-Final will host the Grand Final, with the loser to host the Preliminary Final. The winner of the Minor Semi-Final will progress to the Preliminary Final, with the loser eliminated. The winner of the Preliminary Final will progress to the Grand Final, and the loser will be eliminated. The Grand Final will be played between the winner of the Major Semi-Final and the winner of the Preliminary Final.

Where will the Semi Finals be played?

The team that finishes on top of the ladder at the end of the home and away season, will host the Major Semi-Final against the team that finishes second on the ladder. The team who finishes third on the ladder at the end of the home and away season, will host the Minor Semi-Final against the team that finishes fourth on the ladder.

Where will the Preliminary Final be played?

The loser of the Minor Semi Final will host the Preliminary Final.

Where will the Grand Final be played?

The winner of the Major Semi Final will host the Grand Final.

Where will the Finals Series be broadcast?

You can watch every finals game live and free on 9Gem or stream live on the Netball Live mobile app. Telstra TV will also have on-demand replays of every final available at least four hours after the completion of each match.

When can members purchase tickets?

Both home and away team members will have preferential purchase. Teams will communicate directly with members the process for purchasing tickets during the pre-sale. Members are permitted to purchase a maximum of FOUR tickets per membership. Semi Final tickets will go on sale to Lightning members in the pre-sale period on Monday 29 May at 9:00am AEST. The exclusive members pre-sale period ends at 12:00pm AEST on Monday 29 May.

How many members’ tickets are available?

Netball Australia has worked closely with the venue to ensure a similar allocation of tickets are available to members as per the regular Suncorp Super Netball season. Please note it is expected that the ticket allocation will exhaust quickly, therefore it is recommended that members be ready before the pre-sale period officially opens.

Can I buy tickets if I’m a member of the away team?

Both home and away members will have the same opportunity to purchase tickets during the Exclusive member Pre-Sale periods.

What if I miss out during the members’ pre-sale?

General public tickets will be on sale through Lightning’s ticketing website. Sign up to the Suncorp Super Netball Newsletter to get the most up-to-date information.

What age qualifies for a child ticket?

2 – 14 years (inclusive). Patrons under the age of 2 are free (sit on knee)

What qualifies a concession ticket?

Concession tickets are available for holders of Full Time Student, Pensioners and Seniors Cards.What qualifies a family ticket?A family ticket is 2 adults + 2 children, or 1 adult + 3 children.
