Preseason just around the corner

The countdown is on! With preseason almost upon us, we’re thrilled to have six members of our squad hitting Lightning HQ next week.

Among them will be two of our new players, Peace Proscovia and Annika Lee-Jones, who have recently made the move to the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

In case you missed it, Peace took part in the British Fast5 Netball All-Stars competition before departing England and Annika spent some time living it up on holiday in the USA after wrapping up the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball season.

Annika’s not the only one who’s been jet-setting all over the place over the break, with Maddy McAuliffe also seeing the sights of Sri Lanka. She spent some time on safari and was lucky enough to visit a sea turtle conservation centre.

Jacqui and Cara stuck close to home, with Jac head down, tail up teaching (yep, this smart cookie is also a high school teacher!) and Cara named in Netball Australia’s 2018/19 National Talent Squad (legend much?!)

Steph, Karla and Laura L. did us proud on the international stage, representing their respective countries as part of the Quad Series held in September. Steph and Lauz also went on to compete in the Constellation Cup, and it’s safe to say there were a few hoarse voices at Lightning HQ from all the cheering!

Our resident pocket rocket Laura ‘Shez’ Scherian also donned the green and gold, representing Australia in the Fast5 competition held in Melbourne and showcasing her skills on and off the court. Let’s not forget her truly inspired, live Nutbush routine!

Phumza took part in the Fast5 Netball All-Stars competition held in the UK and she’s currently gearing up to make the move down under.

We expect to have all 10 team members on deck in February next year and are thrilled to have Maddy, Shez, Peace, Jac, Cara and Annika kicking off preseason next week. Bring on 2019!
