Match Day Information: Sunshine Coast Lightning v West Coast Fever
Lightning v Fever – Pre-season Practice Match
STADIUM OPEN: 5.45pm
CENTRE PASS: 6.30pm
Sunshine Coast Lightning will go head to head with West Coast Fever in their first competitive match of the 2020 pre-season tomorrow with Lightning members exclusively invited to attend.
This pre-season match will allow Head Coach Kylee Byrne to benchmark Lightning’s progress so far this pre-season in a competitive environment and will also trial Suncorp Super Netball’s incoming rolling substitute rules.
The last time the two sides met, Lightning defeated Fever in front of a home crowd by 8 goals in Round 9 of last season.
Upon entry to the stadium a gold coin donation will be requested to contribute to Lightning’s ongoing Bushfire Appeal as well as an auction at half time, with funds raised to be donated to the Confident Girls Foundation Bushfire Relief fund. The purpose of this fund is to support netball-specific bushfire relief and recovery projects.
Free public parking is available in the Claymore Road carpark, Carpark 12B or throughout the rest of the University Campus. Carparks 12A & 12C are closed to public parking, noting accessible parking is available in Carpark 12C or the Chancellor College carpark. The Chancellor College carpark will have limited available parking and this is where the taxi and drop off zone is located. Click here to view the USC Parking Map
FOOD & BEVERAGES:
There will be a small range of hot and cold food available for purchase at the venue via the Rip City Canteen or via USC Cafe located next to the pool. Non-alcoholic beverages (including bottled water) are also available for purchase.
Entry to the stadium is by the Northern Gate (closest to the pool end) only. Once inside you can then head to either the Northern or Eastern stand depending on what is noted on your ticket. Seating is not allocated so you are able to choose to sit wherever you like. To see what you can and can’t bring into the stadium please click here.
Reminder – While the action on-court will be red-hot, the stadium itself can be quite cool. The air conditioning system works perfectly, so if you feel the cold, we suggest you bring something warm to wear. If you’re bringing a pram, please see one of our ticket attendees who can put it in the pram storage area – prams cannot be left in the aisle ways.
Lightning athletes will be available for a meet and greet 5 minutes after the conclusion of the game. This will occur on-court 5 minutes only. Please stay in your seat until you’re advised to move down on to the court. Signings are limited to one item per person and minimal photos. This is to ensure the players have their correct recovery time and fairness that everyone gets a chance to get a signature. We appreciate your assistance in ensuring we can get the balance right for everyone!
