Lightning’s new recruit to miss season

Lightning’s newest recruit Sarahpheinna Woulf will miss the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball season after suffering an ACL injury.

Woulf was injured at a Queensland 19 and under training session while preparing for the 2018 National Championships and has since undergone surgery.

Woulf joined Lightning at 17 years of age as a training partner in November and was later elevated to the team following the departure of Lightning star Laura Langman.

Lightning Head Coach Noeline Taurua said the team is devastated for Woulf, after seeing the young talent’s work during the pre-season.

“Fina had really started to show us what she was capable of and justify her selection into our team.  She is young and has an enormous future ahead of her, this is a speed bump in what I am sure will be a very long and successful career as a netballer.  We are shattered for her but are offering our full support in her return back to the court.”

We wish Sarahpheinna all the best with her recovery and will be working closely with her to assist with rehabilitation. The Club will announce a permanent replacement player for the duration of the 2018 season.
