Lightning Prepared For In Form Thunderbirds

Sunshine Coast Lightning are preparing to face an in form Adelaide Thunderbirds outfit at USC Stadium on Sunday.

The two teams sat within the top 4 headed into Round 6 and Thunderbirds will bring renewed confidence into the match given they have won their past two games at the venue.

Lightning’s Peace Proscovia said her team would not take the Thunderbirds clash lightly.

“We can’t undermine the strength of the Thunderbirds but the most important thing is to nail the basics,” Proscovia said.

The shooter noted the versatility of the Club’s goal circle as a strength headed into match, with Lightning continuing to utilise a combination of Steph Wood, Cara Koenen and Proscovia in most matches, as well as Training Partner Binnian Hunt who is part of the extended squad.

“We have great potential within us in the shooting circle, we all have different strengths and we will all use these different strengths together to play this game and I believe it will work to our [benefit],” she said.

“For me, I want to step up and build on that confidence to play the game.”
