Lightning Affiliate NT Storm Readying Themselves For First Home Game

The Northern Territory Storm will be confident heading into Round Two of the Australian Netball League after a strong 16 point first round win against the Western Sting.

Coach Chris Voge pinpointed a number of focus areas for the group this week, highlighting the importance of the demands in playing back-to-back games.

“We had a pleasing start to the competition last week with a first game win and a close second encounter on the trip to Perth,” Vogue said.

“This week we have ensured we focused on freshening up for the matches against QLD Fusion on the Sunshine Coast.

“We want to ensure that across two matches for the weekend we implement our full court defensive pressure and execute our attacking play with confidence and control. ”

On Saturday, Storm will come face-to-face with Queensland Fusion at home at the USC sporting complex at 4pm.

They will play their second match of the round at 9:45am on the Sunday.

The two games provide the perfect opportunity for local fans to watch the emerging talent in Sunshine Coast Lightning’s affiliate team – including our four training partners.

Fans can then head down the Bruce Highway to catch the Lightning take on the Queensland Firebirds at BEC from 1pm.
