Use a thrower to pass the ball to where they should land (at the dot)

Players run up to the dot on circle edge to catch the ball

Look up, find shooter and pass to the shooter

Variation

Add more passes

Add more players in the lead up to the circle ie: centre and wing attack

Have shooter moving and making leads

Change the distance and the pace of the drive and land – increase as they improve

Add in defence and dodging to get ball

Coaching Points

Get players to focus on where to land

Make sure they are aware of the circle – do not go offside

Ensure players are landing softly with bent knees

Ensure knees and feet are inline on the land

Make good eye contact with the shooters

Encourage them to use a variety of passes

Give them time to make mistakes and keep building on their variety of leads and passes

This project has received support from the Sunshine Coast Councils Sports Industry Development grant that was awarded through the Australian and Queensland Governments under the 2019 Queensland Bushfires Local Economic Recovery Program. The Program was established to support projects that contribute to the economic and/or social recovery of the communities most heavily impacted by the Queensland Bushfires, and reduces the impact of future events on the community.
