How You Can Help Peace Proscovia Transport 700kg Of Donated Sports Kit To Ugandan Children

Growing up in Uganda, Peace Proscovia honed her netball craft on dirt ‘courts’, no shoes or proper equipment in sight.

Fast forward 20 years and the Sunshine Coast Lightning shooter is playing in some of the world’s best stadiums.

But the scars on her legs, arms and feet remain as a permanent reminder of all she’s overcome.

Since arriving at the Sunshine Coast, Peace has been calling for donations of sporting equipment, shoes and apparel to send back to her home region.

So successful has been her plight, that she – in conjunction with USC High Performance Sport – are seeking monetary donations to transport the donations back to Uganda.

“This sporting equipment will change lives,” Proscovia said.

“It will provide hope to these children and make them see the world in a brighter way.

“The people in Uganda cannot afford even basic sports shoes and clothes and this will help them play sport, become healthier and lead better lives.”

Over 700kg of high-quality sports wear and equipment has been donated, in what is an incredible and selfless response from the Sunshine Coast community.

With assistance from the Sunshine Coast Council, the freight cost has now been reduced from $7,000 to $5,500. The GoFundMe page has already raised $3,850 as at 26 November 2019 – meaning there is only $1,650 remaining to reach the target!

USC High Performance Sport, on behalf of Peace, have started a GoFundMe campaign, with donations of any size welcomed.

Every dollar donated will go directly to covering the cost of transporting sports equipment to Uganda for distribution.
