Minor game used as a whole group activity, great as part of a warm up
Line up players in groups of at least 4 and place a hoop out in front of each line.
Players then run up to the hoop and land with two feet .
Then they decide to keep one foot planted inside the hoop and use the other foot to push off and do a full pivot and then run around the group to the back of the line
Add a ball for them to catch when they land, then pivot any way and throw back
Add two hoops for them to land in, one at first, then the second with the thrower
Ensure players are landing softly with bent knees
Pivot on ball of foot without lifting it
Encourage them to use a shoulder pass when passing off
If they’ve got their footwork mixed up make the drill a bit easier by moving the hoop a bit closer.
Ensure they’re sprinting to get the ball
This project has received support from the Sunshine Coast Councils Sports Industry Development grant that was awarded through the Australian and Queensland Governments under the 2019 Queensland Bushfires Local Economic Recovery Program. The Program was established to support projects that contribute to the economic and/or social recovery of the communities most heavily impacted by the Queensland Bushfires, and reduces the impact of future events on the community.
