Fans Help Lightning Top League For Match Day Experience

We love seeing our fans out in full force at USC Stadium home games! And it seems you enjoy it as much as we do!

A 2019 Fan Experience Report commissioned by Nielsen Sport confirms Sunshine Coast Lightning top the league in key categories for our home match day delivery.

Lightning rated stronger than any other team in Fan Avidity, Game Satisfaction, Net Promoter Score and Repeat Visitation.

Netball Australia consulted with Nielsen Sport to deliver the half-year findings across the code for a third consecutive year, with Lightning regularly featuring in the top echelon of teams for match day experience.

This year’s results take into account the USC Stadium expansion, which saw an additional 1,000 seats and improved facilities installed at the venue.

The increased seating capacity has certainly been felt on game day, with a sell-out crowd of 3,054 in round 11 resulting in the most vocal crowd the Club has seen at the venue since its inception.

“Sunshine Coast Lightning love hearing the loud and passionate supporters at all of our home games, and the additional 1,000 voices at the expanded USC Stadium is something special,” CEO Danielle Smith said.

“As a Club we really value the importance of community and we feel a responsibility to deliver a positive and engaging match day experience.

“To lead the league in these key metrics not only validates our core mission but it is a reflection on the hard work and passion that goes into each and every match day that Lightning hosts.”

The Club prides itself on being community-centric and the results from Nielsen Sport reiterate the commitment to providing elite-level sporting events.

Lightning will host their final home game of the home and away season on Saturday 24 August before competing in their third consecutive finals campaign as part of the Suncorp Super Netball league.
