Extra Energy To Spur Lightning On For Saturday’s Clash
Noeline Taurua is hopeful that her players can draw on the extra energy in the redeveloped USC Stadium and is excited to see how an extra 1000 vocal fans will impact tomorrow’s clash.
Lightning take on GIANTS Netball on Saturday for the first time since the USC Stadium expansion and Taurua is hoping a passionate crowd will urge her players on.
“It’s always pleasing when an opposition comes and they experience the might of the Sunny Coast people and this beautiful stadium,” Taurua said.
“Considering where the stadium was, where we were a couple of years ago and where we are now, it’s an amazing feat for all involved.
“We call it an intimate stadium and not only will they see the amazement of this place, they will be able to hear, they will be able to feel the people as well and hopefully feel the vibes out on court.
“I definitely think it’s going to be a cauldron… The atmosphere is going to be amazing.”
The Lightning coach is focusing on her team putting their ‘brand’ of netball out on the court and not letting the opposition dictate their style of play.
However Taurua knows wins don’t just fall in your lap and this match against GIANTS will be hard fought.
“I think over the last couple of games they’ve been able to get the points on the board… I have such respect for Julie their coach,” she said.
Sunshine Coast Lightning will go head to head with GIANTS Netball from 7pm on Saturday at the newly redeveloped USC Stadium.
