WORDS FROM THE COACH:

On the opening test…
We were pleased with our overall performance in Auckland, but still had patches where we let the intensity drop. To lose an eight-goal margin that’s not something we want to repeat, it was by no means perfect.

On picking a final 12 athletes…
No matter who was on court at any given time, our connections were forming well on Thursday. With three tests ahead of us, it will provide numerous opportunities. We’ll make a decision on our final 12 on Saturday, based on training form.

On the focus moving forward…
There are plenty of areas of our game that we will continue to work on in preparation for the second test. Although there’s a quick turnaround between games, we will face the same challenges as the Silver Ferns in this regard. We’ll ensure we take care of the details, including recovery and mobility.
