Coast Club announces powerful Patron
Acclaimed Queensland politician, the Hon. Jackie Trad MP has been named Sunshine Coast Lightning’s inaugural Patron.
Trad has been the state’s Deputy Premier since February 2015 and is the Minister for Transport and Minister for Infrastructure and Planning.
Lightning Chief Executive Officer, Danielle Smith said the Deputy Premier’s hard work and dedication was admirable.
“The Honourable Jackie Trad has made an extraordinary contribution to Queensland politics and the people of this state,” Smith said.
“We are thrilled to have a politician of her calibre as our first-ever Patron and look forward to working alongside the Deputy Premier this year.
“Jackie’s political career is extensive and highly regarded. She is heavily involved in her community which seemed fitting as Lightning has a heavy focus on the community.
“Jackie’s management of ex-tropical cyclone Debbie and its aftermath was exemplary and showed what a natural leader she is.”
The Deputy Premier will attend Lightning’s Round 9 Suncorp Super Netball clash with Adelaide Thunderbirds at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre this Saturday.
