Simone Pearce – Company Secretary
Simone is a lecturer in Law at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Simone is also the co-Curricular coordinator for the Law school. Prior to starting with the University in 2014, Simone worked for 20 years as a lawyer in a prominent Sunshine Coast legal firm, 15 of those years as a partner. She has lived on the Sunshine Coast for 40 years. Simone lectures in family law, sports law, and equal opportunity, as well as other areas. Simone has a Masters of Laws from Melbourne University, exclusively sports law subjects or topics. She is currently undertaking a PhD in relation to discrimination for children with disabilities accessing sport. Simone researches in the areas of discrimination, children, disability and women relating to sport.
Simone is an independent director on the Little Athletics Australia Board, a director for the Nambour RSL board, a director of Sundale Community Foundation, and sits on local sports committees for netball and Little Athletics. Simone has extensive experience in sitting on a number of sporting and not-for-profit and community boards and committees, including as company secretary. Simone has an extensive history of participation, administration and coaching in various sports including netball, athletics and touch.
